Our accredited Funeral Service Program prepares you for a rewarding career in a field that is both respected and essential. Our program includes bereavement support, embalming, restorative arts, final disposition, celebrant practices, legal & ethical responsibilities, and more. We offer hands-on learning using lab simulations as well as practicums in clinical settings.
At 4Cs, you can earn an Associate Degree in Funeral Service, as well as Certificates in Bereavement Support, Embalming, Funeral Administrant, and Funeral Celebrant. Our Funeral Service facility is located at Bridgewater State University.

The Funeral Service program offers semester start dates in the Fall (September) and in Spring (January). This program is open-enrollment and applications are accepted at any time. Space is limited so we encourage students to apply early.
Students seeking admission into the Funeral Service program must complete the following requirements: General Admissions Application
Submission of official high school transcripts or high school equivalency transcripts showing evidence of high school diploma and graduation. (Note: Proof if high school completion is required regardless of current level of education).
Your application will be considered incomplete until all materials are received.

Funeral Service students have three ways to take courses:
Remote: Attend class in real-time virtually via Zoom
In-person: Attend class in a face-to-face environment
Online: No set meeting time; assignments are posted online and completed by the deadline each week
This program does not currently have an entirely online track at the moment. However, students have the flexibility to take Funeral Service courses either remotely or in-person.

The Funeral Service program has strict transfer requirements. The following courses are approved for transfer if a grade of C- or higher is earned:
· English Composition
· Human Communication
· Elementary Statistics
· Finite Math
· General Psychology
With the exception of the embalming clinical where the course must be completed with a perfect score, all other courses in the funeral program must have a grade of C or higher and have been taken within the last 3 years for a course to transfer.
All transferable courses must be completed at a regionally accredited institution. Please note, single purpose funeral institutions are not regionally accredited and are not eligible for transfer.
Tuition and fees per credit hour for 2021-22:
Massachusetts residents: $223.00
Non-residents: $429.00
Funeral Service Program fee: $125 per credit hour of course (for courses starting with FSR)
Total cost for AS Funeral Service: $18,424 (63 credits)

Funeral Service Program students must attain a parking decal, student support and a connect card provided by BSU (which are required by all students on BSU campus during Fall and Spring semesters). Students will be billed by 4Cs on behalf of BSU for the following fees:
